Between examinations, competence is kept current in chapters: city units where members drill together, meet regularly and run their own affairs. The examination sets the standard. The chapter keeps it.

Practice between examinations

A credential that is only exercised at examination time decays quietly in between. The chapter exists to prevent that. It is the working unit of NSD: the room where members rehearse incident response on live scenarios, compare practice across organisations, and hold one another to the code they signed.

Chapters govern themselves. Office bearers are elected by members, and chapter governance carries real responsibility rather than a ceremonial title.

Drills are members only, and deliberately so. A rehearsal works when people can be candid about what failed, and candour needs a closed door.

The network grows where members are. Pune and Hyderabad are the newest charters, and their first drills are already on the calendar.
